About
Hello, and thank you for visiting!
For many years, my photographs were the only connection between my family and the world I saw. What I enjoyed most about taking photos was sitting down with them and telling stories about my experiences. I’ll never forget the large bill my father had to pay for developing hundreds of photos when I returned from France as a 16-year-old exchange student (oops!). Or the joy on my mother’s face when we would sit down for a visit and talk for hours about my travels.
As time went on, my camera gear evolved as well as my knowledge of photography, but the joy I felt when sharing my photos remained the same. So, today, my goal is to capture not only our beautiful world but also to tell a story and describe what I was feeling, just like I did with my family.
My style of landscape photography is to create art with rich, bold colors that reflect the vibrant scenes I experience on my travels. Whether I’m in the cold mountains, a warm desert, or standing knee deep in water, I’m drawn to the colors of the landscape. With my camera in hand, I capture these colors and bring them to life in my final pieces of work.
I spent nearly four years traveling around the United States and living full-time in an RV with my husband and two cats. We visited the lower 48 states as well as many national parks. We are currently traveling abroad and discovering new places. Our home base is wherever the road leads us, as we are always looking for new adventures.
Thank you for stopping by my galleries. I hope that my photos and the story behind them bring you as much beauty and joy as they did for my family!
Happy travels,
Julia Meyer
